Hansi „Hansi“ soll mit seinem vorbestimmten Ablauf Assoziationen wecken, an einen, in seinem Käfig hin und her hüpfenden Sittich auf der Fensterbank. 16 Glassittiche sitzen über kleinen Lämpchen, die von einem Computer via Zufallsprogramm illuminiert werden. Wie beim lebenden Vogel ist es die arttypische Attraktivität seines Körpers die ihn für uns anziehend macht und nicht unbedingt die besondere Fähigkeit eines einzelnen Individuums. Die Leuchtkörper bestehen aus, in Pâté- Vère–Technik gegossenem Glas, der enorme Aufwand dieser Technik und die Zerbrechlichkeit der transparenten Körper scheinen mir das perfekte Bild für einen Ziervogel, dessen Funktion in seiner Erscheinung besteht. Die dominanten Kabel verweisen dabei auf den Käfig, ohne den der lebende Vogel kaum an „seinem“ Platz bliebe. The conspicuous cables represent the cage without which the living bird would hardly remain in its place.
